Who We Are

Hi, I’m Jamie—and this is my daughter, Lucille. Together, we’re the heart behind Journey for Connection.

Have you ever sat and thought, “I’m just too much”?
“My kid is too much”?
“Why is friendship so hard—for them and for me?”

I’ve been there. In fact, I am there. As a neurodivergent woman raising a brilliant, creative, neurodivergent child, I know firsthand how isolating it can feel when your kid doesn’t quite “fit in.” You see their magic, but friendships don’t come easily. They want connection, but social skills feel like a foreign language. You want support, but finding real, meaningful community? That can feel impossible.

Growing up, I struggled to find my place. I constantly worried what people thought of me, trying to be someone I wasn’t just to belong. I wish I had been given the space to show up fully as myself—and I wish the same for Lucille.

That’s why Journey for Connection was born.

This is a space for kids and teens who might feel a little out of sync with their peers—but who are deeply ready for friendship. It’s for families who know their children are amazing and want to give them the tools, confidence, and safe environment to connect with others in meaningful ways.

It’s also for parents and caregivers who are exhausted from searching for support, resources, or just someone to say, “Same here. I get it.”

Here, we celebrate differences. We foster emotional safety. We build real friendships. And we walk this journey together—because connection changes everything.

If any of this feels personal to you… that’s because it is.
Welcome. You belong here.
